If you want to see this approach in practice view the videos in the playlists entitled "Student centred learning" where Bob Morton supports Bobby-Jo as she learns to drive. Too many driving instructors focus too much attention on telling their pupils what to do and what to think! This approach only fosters dependency, doubt and blind obedience, such that once the test is passed they do all the things they were told not to do. The LDC approach is designed to foster self-reliance, confidence and responsibility resulting in safer drivers who learn to drive far more quickly and thoroughly. Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection rather than being told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves. The second way might be, if you're not going to go to a driving school, the first time you drive a car you might want to be off the road. Maybe you want to be in a parking lot or a situation like that, so that you can become familiar with the accelerator and the brake and getting the understanding of the feel of the vehicle without being on the roadway in a situation where you might do damage to the vehicle and you have other things around you which make driving more hazardous. The more you drive, the better you're going to get at it, and that fear is going to start to go away. You'll see that the second time in the car, the third time and the fourth time, you'll feel much calmer. A lot of those nerves will go away, because you'll understand that this isn't so bad. I can control the car. Then the fear will go away from you, and the more you drive, the better you will get t it. A lot of that fear will leave you, and then you'll be able to accomplish some great things in learning how to drive a car safely.

How to do roundabouts & understand roundabouts rules at http://driving-school-beckenham.co.uk/roundabouts.html. A brief guide on how to do UK roundabouts driving lesson. When to go on a roundabout? What lane do you need on a roundabout? How to approach a roundabout? These are all common questions when it comes to understanding roundabouts and negotiating UK roundabouts and they're all answered in this video on dealing with roundabouts. We also show you how to negotiate mini-roundabouts and give you driving test tips along the way. If you're looking for help on how to do roundabouts then hopefully this video will give you the driving test tips that you need in understanding roundabouts. In some countries roundabouts are called traffic circles. If you're looking at how to deal with traffic circles in the UK then this video will help. Turning left, 1st exit at the roundabout: Keep in the left hand lane. Check mirrors, signal left. Give way to the right. Once you're on the roundabout and about to exit then check mirrors again, keep the left signal on to exit the roundabout. Follow the road ahead, 2nd exit. Keep in the left hand lane (unless signs or road markings tell you otherwise). No signal needed. Once it's clear to the right then go and keep in the left hand lane (unless road markings or signs tell you otherwise). Before leaving the roundabout, check mirrors, signal left and then exit. Turn right, 3rd exit. Check mirrors, signal right and approach in the right hand lane. Give way to the right. Once it's clear then keep in the right hand lane. Before leaving the roundabout make sure that you check your mirrors, signal left and then exit. Hesitation at roundabouts is common. In one of the sections of this video we show you opportunities and examples of when to get onto a roundabout and which lane you'll need. These are only examples of ways to avoid hesitating at roundabouts, only go when you feel it's safe. Taking the wrong opportunity can be dangerous, so be careful. This video was made to help YOU with your driving. This video might help a new or learner driver. Watch more How to Drive videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/500665-How-to-Pass-Your-Driving-Road-Test-Driving-Lessons So what I want to do today is give you a good understanding of what to expect on a driver's road test, and give you some tips on how to pass the test. And the test is basically a series of turns, some rights, and some lefts, and then two maneuvers, a broken U-turn, and parallel parking. So for the right turn, where we'll start, the basic idea for the right turn is that you're going to have your car over to the right side of the lane that you're on and you're going to make sure you make the turn into the right lane of the street that you're going onto. Pretty much no guesswork in a right turn. It's always the same, from right to right at all times. Right lane to right lane. The left turn is a lot trickier. And the left turn is the one that may get you on that road test. And the reason for the left turn being trickier is because you've got some decisions to make on the left. Do I make the turn into this lane or that lane? That will be determined whether or not that's a one-way or a two-way street. So you're ability to recognize that will be crucial on your road test. What are some of the ways you can tell? A one-way street typically will have a sign on either corner. If you see a sign it's usually a one-way. It'll have an arrow on it. Therefore, the rule of thumb on the turns being closest to the available lane, if you see the one-way sign, the turn has to go into the left lane. If the street doesn't have a sign and it has a line down the middle, you can tell by the color of the line whether or not it's a one-way or a two-way. A white line would indicate one-way street. Again, you'll make your turn onto the left side. A yellow line indicates a two-way street, which means that you've got to make the turn out to the right side of the street. The most difficult one will be the street that doesn't have the line on it. The way you can tell on a street like that, look for the direction of the parked cars. If they're parked in opposite directions, that's going to indicate a two-way street. Remember your rule of thumb, you choose the closest available lane, and you're going to swing out to the right. This is the turn that typically tricks people the most on the road test. Your two maneuvers are a parking, and a broken U-turn. Broken U-turn real simple, you just pull over against the curb on the right, put your indicator on. The whole idea is to take your car from the right side here, bring it across to the other side, then you're going to back up, and then you're going to go back the same way you came on that roadway. My tip for this is when you're doing the backing part, you don't want to back up all the way to the other curb, because usually when you do that you come out on the wrong side of the street. The other maneuver is the parallel parking. Don't worry so much about it. You get a big space to park, and as long as you look back and go back slowly, it shouldn't be a problem for you. And that's it. That's your road test. Usually six turns, three rights, three lefts, a park, a broken U-turn, and it's over in about 10 minutes. Good Luck.
