From a starting standpoint, from an acceleration standpoint, you have to remember that it doesn't take a whole lot of pressure on the pedal to get the car to accelerate. Just a nice, smooth touch will usually do what you need to have done. My recommendation is very, very smoothly, nice soft touch on the pedal, let the car gradually build speed. If we need a little bit more acceleration, you're going to gradually go down a little harder on the pedal from there. You don't want to step too much on the pedal when you first star. If you're doing that, that will cause your car to have that j...

Fear basically comes from the unknown, and it's very common in pretty much anybody who drives a car for the first time. So how do we take some of that fear out of driving? One way might be to go to a driving school. The first time you drive a car be in a situation where someone is sitting next to you with the ability to stop the car just in case something goes wrong. Driving school cars are equipped with dual brakes, so the instructor can stop you just in case anything goes wrong. One way to overcome the fear exactly would be to do that. The second way might be, if you're not going to go to a driving school, the...

The video is used in conjunction with the LDC driving skills workbook. These resources together with guidance from an expert LDC driving instructor provide one of the most effective and efficient ways to learn to drive and become a safe driver for life. This driving lesson includes the controls, cockpit drill, moving off and stopping. If you want to see this approach in practice view the videos in the playlists entitled "Student centred learning" where Bob Morton supports Danielle as she learns to drive. Too many driving instructors focus too much attention on telling their pupils what to do and what to think! This approach only fosters dependency, doubt and blind obedience, such that once the test is passed they do all the things they were told not to do. The LDC approach is designed to foster self-reliance, confidence and responsibility resulting in safer drivers who learn to drive far more quickly and thoroughly. Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection rather than being told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves. This driving lesson video (https://www.learnerdriving.com) from LDC - Learner Driving Centre shows the first practical driving lesson of Claire. Claire has two sisters who found learning to drive a nightmare with other driving schools. Emma, Claire's twin sister, particularly had a bad experience and after buying many driving lessons from another driving school she was told that she needed to learn in an automatic because she had no co-ordination. This of cause was nonsense and after contacting LDC we helped her to pass the test in a manual car despite the damage that had been done to her self confidence. This is why we were so interested in training Claire, her twin, to show it need not be so difficult. Because of this Bob realises Claire may believe it is going to be really difficult for her to learn to drive because of what happened to her twin sister Emma. The provisional plan for today's lesson was to cover the Getting Moving lesson from the LDC driving skills programme. Before this lesson Claire decides to do some preparation for the lesson using the LDC driving skills Workbook but not the DVD as she has no PC/DVD player at home. Bob gave her the link to the videos on YouTube so she could watch them before the next lesson on her phone! Claire has also started to do her Theory Test preparation using a non-LDC phone App. Claire didn't realise LDC do Theory Test software (i.e. Apps) for phones as well as for PCs. Indeed LDC is the only software product where you can pass results between the PC and a mobile device. Too many driving instructors focus too much attention on telling their pupils what to do, what to think and criticizing ever little fault they make! This approach only fosters dependency, doubt and blind obedience, such that once the test is passed they do all the things they were told not to do. The LDC approach is designed to foster self-reliance, confidence and responsibility resulting in safer drivers who learn to drive far more quickly. Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning rather than the instructor centred fault orientated learning approach offered by most other driving schools. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection; rather than being continually criticized and told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves. If you want to see this approach in practice view Bobby-Jo's, Claire's or Nikki's lessons with Bob. This series of videos shows Bob using the new features which will be incorporated into LDCs new workbook for 2014 as he helps Nikki and Claire learn to drive. These new features are contained in the A4 ring bound reflective lesson diary which Nikki and Claire are completing between lessons. The idea behind the LD System is that you watch the video, do a quiz in the workbook and then put the lesson into practice. The workbook also contains a set of activities and targets for each practical lesson along with a reflective diary to help you consolidate your learning, explore your progress and plan what you want to do next. Halifax Driving Lessons Get My Kindle Book http://amzn.to/2gU1CJh ROUNDABOUT TUTORIAL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ubulxtEvWE& This is a mock practical driving test that I recorded in with one of my driving school students. It contains a possible driving test route in Halifax. We left out the manoeuvres, as we know we need to work on them. Everything else in this driving lesson video shows how things could pan out on the actual driving section of the practical driving test. The video includes examples of how/where you may be asked to pull up. It also includes 3 different independent driving sections. I carry out mock driving tests to show the pupil how things may go on the day of their driving test. It also shows up some areas of driving that we may need to work on during driving lessons in Halifax. If you see the driving school student doing things wrong then by all means add some constructive comments. Please be nice, she has done this video to help people understand what may happen on their driving test. Watch more How to Drive videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/500643-How-to-Start-and-Stop-Smoothly-Driving-Lessons Today we're going to try to give you some useful tips on how to start and stop smoothly. If you're doing that, that will cause your car to have that jerking kind of effect. As far as breaking goes, pretty much the same thing applies. You want a nice, smooth touch on the break. You don't want to slam it all the way down unless you really have to come to a panicked stop. A nice, smooth stop is accomplished by a nice, soft touch on the pedal. Right at the end of that stop, the last five feet, you're going to just ease off that brake pedal just a little bit, and that car should come to a nice, smooth stop. You won't get that bumping motion that will fail you on your road test. Those are some good tips for starting and stopping in a nice, smooth fashion.

How to do roundabouts & understand roundabouts rules at http://driving-school-beckenham.co.uk/roundabouts.html. A brief guide on how to do UK roundabouts driving lesson. When to go on a roundabout? What lane do you need on a roundabout? How to approach a roundabout? These are all common questions when it comes to understanding roundabouts and negotiating UK roundabouts and they're all answered in this video on dealing with roundabouts. We also show you how to negotiate mini-roundabouts and give you driving test tips along the way. If you're looking for help on how to do roundabouts then hopefully this video will give you the driving test tips that you need in understanding roundabouts. In some countries roundabouts are called traffic circles. If you're looking at how to deal with traffic circles in the UK then this video will help. Turning left, 1st exit at the roundabout: Keep in the left hand lane. Check mirrors, signal left. Give way to the right. Once you're on the roundabout and about to exit then check mirrors again, keep the left signal on to exit the roundabout. Follow the road ahead, 2nd exit. Keep in the left hand lane (unless signs or road markings tell you otherwise). No signal needed. Once it's clear to the right then go and keep in the left hand lane (unless road markings or signs tell you otherwise). Before leaving the roundabout, check mirrors, signal left and then exit. Turn right, 3rd exit. Check mirrors, signal right and approach in the right hand lane. Give way to the right. Once it's clear then keep in the right hand lane. Before leaving the roundabout make sure that you check your mirrors, signal left and then exit. Hesitation at roundabouts is common. In one of the sections of this video we show you opportunities and examples of when to get onto a roundabout and which lane you'll need. These are only examples of ways to avoid hesitating at roundabouts, only go when you feel it's safe. Taking the wrong opportunity can be dangerous, so be careful. This video was made to help YOU with your driving. This video might help a new or learner driver. You might also find this useful if you're visiting the UK from abroad and want to know about driving in the UK. If this has been useful then please give us a 'thumbs up' like. Part of the revolutionary LD System of learning to drive. this video explains the main hand controls of the car. The video is used in conjunction with LDC driving skills workbook to learn to drive. These resources together with guidance from an expert LDC driving instructor provide one of the most effective and efficient ways to learn to drive and become a safe driver for life. Watch more How to Drive videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/500666-How-to-Overcome-Driving-Fear-Driving-Lessons Today we want to talk about how to overcome fear in driving. The second way might be, if you're not going to go to a driving school, the first time you drive a car you might want to be off the road. Maybe you want to be in a parking lot or a situation like that, so that you can become familiar with the accelerator and the brake and getting the understanding of the feel of the vehicle without being on the roadway in a situation where you might do damage to the vehicle and you have other things around you which make driving more hazardous. The more you drive, the better you're going to get at it, and that fear is going to start to go away. You'll see that the second time in the car, the third time and the fourth time, you'll feel much calmer. A lot of those nerves will go away, because you'll understand that this isn't so bad. I can control the car. Then the fear will go away from you, and the more you drive, the better you will get t it. A lot of that fear will leave you, and then you'll be able to accomplish some great things in learning how to drive a car safely.

Although Claire made good progress on her first lesson she obviously expected not to do so well. This is Claire's second practical driving lesson with Bob. Bob hoped he had helped Claire to realise she really did make good progress on the last lesson. Claires negative expectations come from the experiences of her two sisters who had a nightmare learning to drive with other driving schools. Emma, Claire's twin sister, particularly had a bad experience and after buying many driving lessons from another driving school she was told that she needed to learn in an automatic because she had no co-ordination. This of cause was nonsense and after contacting LDC we helped Emma to pass the test in a manual car despite the damage that had been done to her self confidence. This is why we were so interested in training Claire, we were keen to show her that what happened to her twin sister need not happen to her. Because of the problem Emma had with gears Claire naturally assumes this will be difficult but as she will see with our approach this need not be such a problem. This series of videos shows Bob using the new LD System workbook as he helps Nikki and Claire learn to drive. The idea behind the LD System is that you watch the video, do a quiz in the workbook and then put the lesson into practice. The workbook also contains a set of activities and targets for each practical lesson along with a reflective diary to help you consolidate your learning, explore your progress and plan what you want to do next. I’m so heartbroken that I accidently clicked on the stop recording button halfway through this so that I didn’t capture the entire experience. “Mom” was taking a Sunday afternoon nap so I took all the kids with me to start teaching my daughter how to drive. This is the 1st time she’s ever been in the driver’s seat. I took her sibling much to her objection, but I took them because it would make for a more interesting video since they know how to naturally provide commentary for this episode. LOL! We stayed off the public roads and limited ourselves to the roads and parking lot of the fairgrounds.

Meeting traffic and clutch control in traffic driving lesson http://www.driving-school-beckenham.co.uk Meeting traffic with clutch control in traffic is looked at in this video and when to change gears. If you're learning to drive a manual car/stick shift and preparing for your driving test then this video will be ideal for you. This video will also help if you want to understand the clutch and when to change gears. The general rule when meeting traffic is if the obstruction is on your side of the road then you would have to stop for oncoming road users. If the obstruction is on the other side of the road then you would have priority. Obstructions on both sides and then no one has right of way. When there's obstructions on both sides then use your anticipation skills when meeting traffic. Make eye contact with the other road user, try and judge who is going to take control of the situation. If the oncoming vehicle is in the middle of the road and they're not slowing down then you can anticipate that they want you to stop. If they're slowing down and moving out of your way then they probably want you to go through. Constantly look our for spaces that you could use when meeting traffic. Plan ahead as usual and be ready for the worst. Don't stop too close to the kerb when waiting for oncoming as it will be hard to steer out of the space and road users behind might think that you've parked. Don't stop too close to the parked vehicle in front either as it will also be hard to steer back out again. Be ready to move out of the space and make it easy for yourself. Use your mirrors constantly as you move into the space when meeting traffic and when you go back out again. When driving at slow speed you can expect cyclists to possibly catch up with you on the left or right of you so be careful. In this driving lesson, I go over the first things that you should do when you are learning how to drive. I talk about starting the engine, putting the car into drive, and starting/stopping smoothly. The truth of the matter is that driving safely and smoothly is an art form, and for your first lesson, you should be getting the hang of the basics. You should practice turning, starting, and stopping. With enough practice, you will perfect these moves!
